OneDrive icons explained — cloud, tick, people, exclamation
OneDrive uses a tiny status icon next to every file. Here’s what each means.
- Blue cloud — file is in the cloud only, will download when you open it. Saves disk space.
- Green tick (outline) — file has been downloaded to your device but can be cleared if disk gets tight.
- Solid green tick — you marked it “Always keep on this device”.
- People silhouette — the file is shared with at least one other person.
- Red exclamation — sync error. Right-click the OneDrive cloud icon in the system tray to see what’s blocking.
- Two arrows spinning — actively syncing right now.
