Printer shows as offline
Printer’s alive, Windows thinks it isn’t. Standard sequence below clears it 95% of the time.
- Check the printer is physically on, has paper, and has no error light blinking.
- Walk to the printer — if it has a screen, tap it to wake it. Many printers sleep aggressively.
- On Windows: Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Printers & scanners → click the printer → Open print queue.
- Click Printer (top menu) → untick “Use Printer Offline” if it’s ticked.
- Cancel any old stuck print jobs at the same time.
- Restart the printer (unplug power for 30 seconds). Restart Windows.
