Disconnect from AVD without logging out
There’s a difference: Disconnect keeps your session running for next time; Sign out kills it.
- Disconnect (recommended for short breaks): close the AVD window. Your apps and documents stay open in the session. Reconnect later and you’re right where you left off.
- Sign out (end of day or after a big change): inside AVD, click Start → your name → Sign out. The session is cleaned up.
- If your AVD policy has an idle-disconnect (usually 90 minutes), the session pauses automatically.
- If your AVD policy has a max-session limit (usually 12 hours), it’ll sign you out anyway.
