Approve an MFA prompt on my phone
Looks slightly different across iOS/Android/Authenticator app vs SMS. All variants below.
- Microsoft Authenticator push: phone shows a number on the sign-in screen — tap that number in the Authenticator app, then approve.
- SMS code: code arrives by text — type the 6 digits into the sign-in page.
- Voice call: phone rings, automated voice asks you to press #.
- FIDO key: tap the physical key on the side button when prompted.
- If you never receive the prompt, check the phone has signal/data and notifications aren’t on Do Not Disturb.
