Hardware — your questions, answered.

The common questions clients ask before, during, and after deployment. No marketing fluff; the answers we'd give on a scoping call.

Business hardware specified to the workload, supplied through the whedo.it distributor accounts, and optionally configured-on-arrival so devices land on the user's desk already enrolled in Intune, joined to your tenant, and policy-applied. HP and Microsoft Surface for laptops; HP ZBook for workstations; MSI for CAD and creative; Ubiquiti for networking. The questions below cover what we stock, what we recommend, and how the supply process works. Anything specialised we don't routinely supply, we can usually source — ask.

Why these specific brands?
HP and Surface have the most consistent business support, three-year warranty as standard, predictable supply. HP ZBook is ISV-certified for AutoCAD, Revit, ArcGIS, Adobe. MSI Creator is the right tool when ZBook isn't enough GPU. Ubiquiti UniFi scales cleanly without per-AP licensing tax.
Can you configure devices before they arrive?
Yes. Configured-on-arrival means the device boots, joins your tenant, applies Intune policies, installs Defender, and is ready for the user to sign in. Add $185 per device. Saves IT touch-time on every new starter.
Lease or buy?
Most clients buy outright — devices typically last 3-4 years, and outright purchase is cheaper over the lifecycle. Leasing makes sense for fleets over 30 devices with predictable refresh cycles, where balance-sheet treatment matters. Happy to quote either.
What about warranty?
Three-year warranty standard on HP business range, Surface for Business, and ZBook. Extended (4-5 year) options available. On-site / next-business-day options for environments where downtime is expensive.
Can you supply the same brand as our existing fleet?
Yes — Lenovo, Dell, ASUS, Apple all sourceable through standard Australian distribution. Brand consistency on a fleet has real value for spare parts and user training; we won't push you off what's working.
Delivery times?
Stock items 3-5 business days from Perth distribution. Built-to-order configurations (specific RAM / storage / GPU) usually 7-14 days. Bulk orders for new offices or refresh cycles can be staged to suit your move-in schedule.
