Take a screenshot on Windows 11

Three ways depending on whether you want full screen, one window, or a specific area.

  1. Whole screen, copied to clipboard: Print Screen key (PrtScn). Paste into the app of your choice.
  2. Whole screen, saved as a file: Win+Print Screen. File lands in Pictures → Screenshots.
  3. Just one window: Alt+Print Screen. Paste anywhere.
  4. A specific area: Win+Shift+S — opens the Snipping Tool, drag a rectangle, copied to clipboard. The screenshot also shows in the notification — click it to annotate and save.

Still stuck after those?

You’ve done the right thing by trying. Send whedo.it a quick note — what you tried, what you saw — and a senior pair of eyes will be on it the same business day.
