People can’t hear me in a Teams meeting

Three usual suspects: wrong device, Windows mic permission, hardware mute.

  1. In the meeting, click the three dots (···) → Device settings.
  2. Check the Microphone dropdown is the right device — not a Bluetooth headset that’s not paired, not “Stereo Mix”.
  3. Speak normally — the level bar should bounce.
  4. Nothing bouncing? Go to Windows Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone, and make sure Teams is allowed.
  5. Some headsets have a physical mute switch on the cable — check it.
  6. Last resort: unplug and replug the headset, then restart Teams.

Still stuck after those?
